Long Live the Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott {Book Blog Tour with Review}

Never again would I allow my heart to become the plaything of someone else. Never again would I let a man (or men) come between me and my goals. Never again would I love without feeling the fullness of that love in return. Not until I knew it was real. And if that took me a lifetime to find, so be it. Those were my vows, and after all that had happened with Connor and Weston, I was determined to keep them. To protect my heart. And then he came home, and my vows became his promises. He held my heart in his hands with reverence and care. He helped me find my souls greatest purpose in life. He loved me with a love so pure and vibrant, I knew Id never feel anything like it in a hundred lifetimes. It was real. Until it wasnt. Until it all came crashing down when I discovered the deep love I thought Id found was nestled in a web of liesso soft and silken I hadnt noticed it was there. Until it was too late. ********** Long Live the Beautiful Hearts is the emotional, heart-wrenching conclusion to the Beautiful Hearts Duet by bestselling author, Emma Scott, and is inspired by the classic tale, Cyrano de Bergerac. (Roxanne) THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL LOVE TRIANGLE #confusedhearts #notamenage THIS BOOK IS NOT A STANDALONE. It should not be read without first reading Bring Down the Stars

AMAZON US | AMAZON UK | AMAZON AU | AMAZON CA   I fell for Connor Drake. I didnt want to; I fought against it, but I fell in love with him anyway. With his words. With his poetry. With him. The gentleness and beauty of his soul that speaks directly to mine. He writes as if he can feel my heart, hear its cadence and compose the exact right lyrics to accompany every beat and flow. Im in love with Connorso why do I feel an inexplicable pull to his best friend, Weston? Grouchy, sullen, brooding Weston Turner, who could cut you down with a look. Fiercely intelligent with a razor sharp wit and acid tongue, hes the exact opposite of Connor in every way, and yet theres electricity in the air between us. The thorny barbs Weston wraps around himself cant keep me away. But the more time I spend with these men, the more tangled and confused my emotions become. When they both sign up for the Army Reserves during a time of increasing strife in the Middle East, I fear Ill never unravel my own heart that sometimes feels as if it will tear straight down the middlefor both of them. ********** Bring Down the Stars is an emotional, angst-filled novel of unrequited love by bestselling author, Emma Scott, and is inspired by the classic tale, Cyrano de Bergerac. (Roxanne) It is Book I in the Beautiful Hearts Duet, coming this summer. Book II, Long Live the Beautiful Hearts, to be released a few weeks later. #lovetriangle #confusedhearts #notamenage

She's in love with my soul", he said. "And my soul is you.

For you, I would
Bring down the stars,
Wreath their fire
Around your neck
Like diamonds,
And watch them
Pulse
To the beat of your heart.

WARNING: This book will wreck you but you will love it!! This duet is by far my favorite read this year. Conner, Weston and Autumns stories will destroy you. Three people meant to meet, meant to hold each others hearts and meant to devastate one another. This is by far the most powerful work Emma Scott has ever done in my humble opinion but she hit her mark for sure. She is one of the best character developers and angsty story writers I've ever read. You can pick up any of her books and fall madly in love with her characters in minutes.

Without spoiling the duet for you, the three things that make this a MUST read are the writing, the characters and the plot. I know what else is there in a book, you ask but honestly all aspects were on point and close to perfection! The writing was beautiful and detailed enough to give the reader an easy flow to the story. The characters were broken, kind and so easy to fall for. The plot was original, complicated and emotional.

This duet is NOT for the faint of heart but it is for anyone that likes to read about the real in life. This book doesn't hold back and deals with hard to talk about topics but does it with ease and grace that just blow you away.

I can not express how much this book affected me. I highly encourage you to pick this duet up asap.

Who needs mistletoe?

Most people wouldn't think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn't most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she's been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once...

Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don't mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he's shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly's brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can't believe he's drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who's the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he's ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he's been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas.

It took Lucas Knight longer than it should have to realize he had a woman in his bed, but to be fair, he had a bitch of a hangover. Even worse than that, last night was a blur, prompting him to take quick stock. One, there was a bundle of sweet, soft curves against him. Two, his head was currently threatening to secede from the United States Of Lucas. And three, his side hurt like well, like hed been shot.

Itd been two weeks since hed gotten caught in some crossfire on the job and he hadnt yet been cleared for more than light duty something hed obviously managed to ignore last night given that he was palming a nice, warm, feminine ass.

Think, man.

Straining his brain, he remembered taking a pain med before going to ORileys Pub to meet up with some friends. A client had been there, someone hed recently helped save from a multi-million dollar corporate espionage. The guy had ordered shots to toast to Lucas and shit. Knowing better than to mix pain meds and alcohol, hed hesitated, but everyone had been waiting on him, glasses hoisted in the air. Thinking just one shot couldnt hurt anything, hed knocked back the drink.

Clearly, hed been wrong and itd been enough to mess him up big time, something he hadnt been in years, not since his brother Josh had been killed. Shoving that away for another time or never -- Lucas cracked open one eye, but when his retina was stabbed by a streak of sunlight glaring in through the window, he immediately slammed it shut it again. Taking a deep breath, he told himself to suck it up and opened both eyes this time, learning two additional facts.

He was naked and completely uncovered.

And the woman snugged up at his side was rolled up in his comforter like a burrito.

What. The. Hell.

Three Words: Sizzling, feisty & romantic

In Hot Winter Nights, Lucas Knight wakes up from a rough night of accidentally mixing pain killers and alcohol to a women in his bed. He's shocked, and a little terrified, to discover this woman is Molly Malone, the office manager at their job working for Archer Hunt. Oh, and Molly is also the little sister to his best friend, Joe. Molly knows that nothing physical happened that night, but she doesn't tell Lucas. She uses this information to convince Lucas to help her run her own investigation helping some friends who work at Santa's village. And, of course, while they are working together they fall for each other.

I really liked Lucas and Molly. Both had been through a lot in their pasts. But I loved that, despite their vulnerability, they had open hearts for each other. They did not push each other away too much. Lucas and Molly were sweet and sexy together and they also made a great investigative team. I really liked the elves and Santa theme; it was funny and cute. I did think the conflict wrapped up a bit too close to the end. I wanted to see a bit more happy times and resolution before the end of the book. Still, I enjoyed this book and Lucas and Molly's relationship progression and journey to love.

I am a HUGE Jill Shalvis fan and this novel is just one of the many reasons why. Sweet romance with a touch of sexy is my formula for an amazing take-you-away book. 5 enthusiastic stars from me!
